It was a beautiful day at Merle Ave School were the Wild Dogs experienced something new. For the first time this season the Wild Dogs were called on to pitch for themselves. First up was Kevin Murphy. He pitched one inning getting three strikeouts, and giving up a walk and a hit by pitch. Second was Jack Petrillo. He to allowed a walk and a hit by pitch and recorded two strikeouts. Third was Matthew Ciociano. He recorded three strikeouts and a hit by pitch. Fourth was Danny Mullen who recorded two strikeouts and three walks. Fifth was James Capozzi who recorded three strikeouts. And last but not least was Paul Maggio who had a rough time keeping control allowing three walks. All in all they pitched extremely well for their first time on the mound. On defense we also had a couple of plays as a groundball was hit to the pitcher Jack Petrillo and he turned and through the ball to the catcher Preston Krauss for an out. Also a groundball to Preston Krauss at third base where he turned and through the ball to the catcher Matthew Ciociano for an out. Leading the team in offense was Danny Mullin and Paul Maggio each with three hits, Nicky Lattka who had two hits and Jack Corbett, Tyler Pierce, Austin Fassenfeld and Joseph Massimillo each had a hit. All in all the Wild Dogs experienced a new phase in baseball. Personally I think they performed as a team with really no difficulty. See you at our next game which is on 6/1 at Shell Creek.
