2009 JETS GAME RECAPS

Game #1 Sunday 10/4/2009
Welcome to opening day of " Gang Green's" 2009 season. The first game pitted us against the "Monsters of the Midway" Bears, at Frank Lamagna stadium. The Jets men engaged in an epic battle and had to fight for every yard against a very tough Bears defense. The Jets offense was led mostly by Nick Mari at QB, with two touchdown runs by Bobby Stewart that were both executed beautifully. Both extra points were kicked by Jake Cohen. Both touchdowns were possible because of excellent work on the offensive line and down field blocks by the likes of Kevin Marks, Jackie Sweet, and Nick Pizzarelli among others. Pete Malizia had an outstanding game including awesome hits all game and a sack in the fourth quarter to stifle a furious Bears drive. Gunnar Jones, CJ Kearney and King Peay had outstanding games on both sides of the ball, including an interception by King Peay deep in Jets territory .Every young man played well because you played AS A TEAM and should be very proud of the effort on Sunday. We still have plenty of work to do, so be ready to practice hard on Saturday to get ready for the mighty Giants. Go JETS!
